The striking project for Cefn Castell in Criccieth North Wales (United Kingdom) is work of prolific architecture practice stephenson STUDIO. This contemporary family house is located on an isolated cliff top overlooking Cardigan bay in Criccieth in North Wales. On it’s place stood a run down four hundred year old former cottage. The newly built home is shaped using solid, void and frame as new elements in glass and render. The architects made sure the backdrop feature of a monumental natural stone wall was constructed from the remains of the existing cottage which stood on the locatio. The design makes the most of location’s panoramic views from every single room, furthermore it connects a slew of inner spaces internal to external via the use of expansive sliding glazed screens.
