Discover this modern, opulent, and colourful townhouse designed for a young family of three. The project was a redesign commission coming from an award-winning interior design practice Décor Aid. The stunning townhouse is located in New York City, the design team shared with us:
Redesigning your home to fit bold modern art can be a challenge, which is why these clients reached out to Décor Aid for assistance. Never ones to shy away from statements or bright colors, these clients wanted to renovate their townhouse to suit their collection of eccentric art pieces. Besides upgrading the design visually, the space needed to be able to suit the needs of their newborn child and two dogs. These clients opted for a statement upon entering. Bright green dining chairs greet visitors at the door, and a striking chandelier punctuates the space above with dramatic angles. While this space was especially bold, the designer wanted a similar flow throughout the rest of the home without a bombardment of bright colors. To balance out the bright colors of the dining room, the living room created a toned down space that was still made bold through its use of artwork. A large piece covers an entire wall, accentuated by a curved sofa and rounded rug.
