Originally envisioned as a small-scale project to address water damage from faulty construction, the scope of Casa Aspetto transformed into a comprehensive rebuild. The clients’ needs evolved into creating a “forever home” that perfectly reflects their lifestyle and desires. The previous house was not only impractical for a family of four but also lacked the space and design for entertaining guests. Medium Plenty’s vision turned this challenge into an opportunity, resulting in a residence that is both functional and elegantly designed.
Adhering to the neighborhood’s stringent design guidelines, Casa Aspetto is a three-story house that maximizes every inch of usable space. The design process was a collaborative effort, with the homeowners actively participating. Their input is evident in the plaster design and the angular brass inlay pattern in the stone floor on the main level. The couple’s collection of Italian ceramic beach tiles influenced the color palette and were incorporated into a custom exterior bench adjacent to the living room, adding a personal touch to the space.
A standout feature of Casa Aspetto is the acoustically specialized media room, designed for both two-channel audio and surround sound. This space employs sound isolation measures, absorption/reflection panels, and finely tuned speakers, ensuring an exceptional auditory experience. Other design highlights include a custom bay window nook with a resin rotating game table, a bold powder room, and a sunlit living room that seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces. The living room offers views of the solid stone slabs that visually contain and punctuate the backyard.
