In the Sorrento Peninsula lies the clifftop resort, Laqua by the Sea, a part of the exclusive Laqua Collection by chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo. This luxurious resort, recently restyled by Neapolitan architect Valentina Autiero, is a tribute to the Mediterranean. It encapsulates an atmosphere of spiritual upliftment.

Laqua by the Sea offers five deluxe rooms and one classic room, each designed to reflect luxurious tranquility. The panoramic terraces and infinity pool blend harmoniously with the marine landscape, creating an unparalleled experience of relaxation and well-being. Every detail of the resort is meticulously curated to celebrate the magical encounter between man and sea, immersing guests in the serene environment.

Valentina Autiero, renowned for her architectural and interior design expertise, has infused Laqua by the Sea with a vibrant spirit and magnetic personality. Her design features curved elements that mimic the dynamic and unpredictable shifts of waves at sunset. The rooms now boast monolithic sculptural features in Persian red travertine, creating striking visual perspectives and scenic backgrounds dedicated to personal care and relaxation.

One of the most interesting aspects of the redesign is the use of a full-height glazed partition in each room, which extends the space towards the sea, breaking down the frontal perspective and fostering a direct dialogue with the surrounding landscape. This design choice enhances the iridescent dynamism of the rooms, allowing guests to experience a continuously evolving palette of colors, from the cold blues of dawn to the fiery reds of sunset.

In contrast to the curved design elements, the wall opposite the bed area features a geometric yet irregular decorative metal structure. This area, equipped with wooden armchairs and coffee tables, is perfect for relaxation or contemplation. The structure also serves as a backdrop for showcasing local craftsmanship from the Campania region, including clay sculptures made by Antonino Cannavacciuolo‘s father, adding a personal and sentimental touch to the decor.

Valentina Autiero’s architectural vision for Laqua by the Sea not only transforms the aesthetic but also deepens the focus on well-being, which is the hallmark of all Laqua Collection resorts. The harmonious interplay of design elements creates a luxurious yet serene environment that invites guests to indulge in the beauty and tranquility of the Mediterranean.
