The project is conceived as a straightforward architectural proposition: a simple box structure, complemented by a singular, yet powerful spatial gesture. This minimalist approach not only defines the home’s aesthetic but also reinterprets conventional social interactions within the domestic environment.
The entryway of the house is intentionally modest, leading visitors into a small foyer accompanied by a reading lounge. This unassuming beginning transitions into a flexible dining area that acts as a bridge to the home’s central feature. As one moves deeper into the house, a spatial shift occurs. The design funnels both movement and sightlines towards a striking sculptural island that dominates the core of the home. This island, with its knife-edge facade, gradually transforms into an unexpected triangular form as it extends towards the rear of the house.
This triangular island serves as the heart of the home’s social dynamics. Each of its three sides is dedicated to a different function—sitting, watching, and cooking—allowing for a seamless integration of activities.
