During the recently wrapped up Stockholm Furniture Fair world renowned interior design stylist Lotte Agaton has presented her exhibition TREND.
“I have created the trend exhibition at this weeks furniture fair in Stockholm. To me that was a bit complex since I don’t really like the way we tend to use the word trend today. As I am writing in my text at the exhibition to me trends are more about moods and tendences in the society rather than a style or the colour of the year. I believe that the world climate, politics and economy reflects and sets our needs also in interiors. After years with good economy and safety we have had bright white spaces open for exposure, but when the world climate is falling apart and economy gets more uncertain we immediately start to nest. In uncertain times we want our environment to be comforting and safe, and so our rooms gets darker, warmer and more embracing. The exhibition space is my reflection of our times. I wanted to create a space with no set rules and to inspire people to play more with what they already have and use new materials, colours and textures. I wanted to create a space where contrasting materials and colours met in unexpected ways and show that a room and its furnitures could behave in a new way just by changing the wall colour. I have chosen furnitures and products that all have a clean lines and timeless design. When lined up together all the furnitures would fit together but by placing them in rooms with different wall colors and change the fabric, every room and piece of furniture got a totally different mood.” – from Lotta Agaton
