HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE, a new concept of clothing for the contemporary man, opens its first stand-alone store in Daikanyama, designed by Naoto Fukasawa. The new trapezoid-shaped space offers an exciting customer experience.
The building, in the form of a trapezoid concrete box had no beams. Thin wide beams were consequently passed through, thus partitioning the structure into a space above people’ s line of sight and a space below, where clothes are hung in a neat, orderly manner. It appears as if HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE clothes are floating in space. – Naoto Fukasawa
