Estudio Montevideo designed this stunning health focused grocery store located in Jesús María, Argentina, in 2019. Take a look at the complete story after the jump.
From the architects: CÕMO Natural Market is a small health food store.
The client wanted to have an office and a small place with everything needed to support the diets she prescribes.
The place is a small place located in the city of Jesús María, Córdoba.
The main idea was to generate a sincere, simple environment, a context of original materials, vegetation, a hug upon arrival and a strong identity in terms of geometry.
For this Estudio Montevideo came up with three main gestures:
The first is a multifunction library that runs throughout the premises, generating both the exhibition of the products, the storage of them and also a bar situation to stay to eat or try what you like.
The second gesture is the entrance inn. It is an important piece of furniture that receives people as soon as they enter the place. In it they find everyday things and behind the greeting of those who attend to them.

Finally, in the third gesture, Estudio Montevideo try to generate something strong from the geometric point of view. A challenge of movement and texture in a place somewhat limited by its size. As a starting path we try to find inspiration in a natural geometry, thus choosing the splinters of a pineapple. That after a work of abstraction and redesign, the architects hung on the ceiling and covered with wicker. Achieving that unique expression and at the same time curiously linked to nature.
To seal the environmental warmth, we illuminate the space from the sky pointing to main places and on each library shelf to display the products.
Finally add that CÕMO, is the name we decided to give the venture, since it was an integral work of Architecture and Branding.
