Gervasoni has brought its signature style to La Locanda alle Vigne, a restaurant situated in the esteemed Subida di Monte winery in Cormòns, nestled in the Friulian countryside. This project, designed by AK Engineering SRL, combines architectural elegance with a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Surrounded by 12 hectares of lush vineyards, the structure features a minimalist design that reflects its natural surroundings. The building, clad entirely in wood, takes inspiration from the Friulian tradition of the “Fogolar,” with a central fireplace symbolizing warmth and hospitality. This central piece creates a homely atmosphere that invites guests to relax and enjoy the serene setting. A striking glass wall provides uninterrupted views of the vineyards.
A Harmonious Blend of Tradition and Modern Design
Within this thoughtfully designed space, Gervasoni has curated a selection of furniture that balances contemporary style with comfort. Pieces from the Ghost and Gray collections, designed by Paola Navone, are paired with poufs from the Brick collection and Saia armchairs by David Lopez Quinconces. Each piece contributes to an environment where modern design meets the warmth of hospitality.
The deep green sofa reflects the tones of the surrounding forest, while the light-colored chairs and ochre yellow cushions introduce vibrancy and warmth to the interiors. The armchairs contribute an elegant touch, drawing on the natural palette of the vineyard with shades of green, brown, and earthy tones.
Simplicity and Comfort
The Ghost collection by Paola Navone is known for its clean lines and practical design. The chairs, crafted with wooden frames and polyurethane covers, feature minimalist silhouettes that balance functionality and style. Designed for versatility, their removable covers allow for easy updates to suit various tones and patterns.
Nordic Elegance
Gervasoni’s Gray collection, also designed by Paola Navone, introduces Nordic-inspired seating. The chairs feature low slatted backrests, blending traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. Their solid wood construction provides a grounded presence in the dining area.

To improve the interiors, armchairs with padded frames and exposed stitching are paired with curved backrests for added comfort. The collection includes rocking chairs inspired by mountain retreats, offering tall slatted backrests and soft, loose cushions that create a sense of ease. Other minimalist chair designs with slatted detailing pair beautifully with poufs, combining structural integrity with foam padding and removable covers for versatility.
A Contemporary Classic
Designed by David Lopez Quinconces, the Saia armchair mixes timeless elegance with modern craftsmanship. Its name, derived from the Portuguese word for “skirt,” references its draped cover that extends gracefully to the floor. This design evokes a balance of sophistication and comfort, with downward-curved armrests and a high backrest offering a welcoming embrace. In La Locanda alle Vigne, the armchairs feature olive-green upholstery that complements the overall color palette. Their polyurethane padding adds an extra layer of comfort.
A Thoughtful Union of Design and Hospitality
Gervasoni demonstrates how furniture can shape an inviting atmosphere that harmonizes with its surroundings in La Locanda alle Vigne. By integrating thoughtful design elements and versatile pieces, the restaurant achieves a perfect balance of comfort and sophistication.
