Marble Worktops

Marble worktops are famous for many reasons and never go out of style. The opulence of marble goes well with any interior design. While white marble is quite popular, it is also available in greys, greens, blacks and different patterns ranging from subtle to high contrast.

It does have its own limitations, as it is susceptible to stain, scratches and cracks. It is also porous in nature, making staining a big concern. Therefore, lemon juice, wine and turmeric may cause problems to your marble worktops. You must never clean it with any harsh cleaning product, or it will do harm than any good.

But if sealed with a protective sealant, it can resist all these problems to some extent. However, sealing needs to be done once a year. Besides all the issues, marble still is a favourite material due to its beauty and versatility provided you take good care of this natural stone.

Granite Worktops

Granite worktops are kitchen countertops compared to marble. These are less porous than marble and even require sealing once a year. It is even harder compared to marble. It is quarried from the earth and its structural integrity and strength may vary depending on its processing. However, each granite slab is unique and varies in its appearance. They do not have a wide range of colours, but this material is durable and resistant to stain and scratches, unlike marble. In many parts of the world, it is the preferred kitchen worktop material due to its sophistication and functionality.

Quartz Worktops

CRL Quartz is an engineered stone or composite CRL stone. It is one of the rapidly increasing categories of kitchen worktops due to its mechanical and technical properties. This high-quality surface contains 93% natural quartz, which is known to be one of nature’s hardest materials.

The quartz Caesarstone is not only scratch resistant but also non-porous. This means it is resistant to stain as well. The daily cleaning process requires only a mild detergent and a clean damp cloth. Due to the non-porous nature of quartz Caesarstone worktops, there is no need of annual sealing. It also makes the worktop more hygienic.

Which is the best worktop material among three?

While quartz is the most advanced and highly resistant to staining, scratches, high-impact, etc., many people still prefer granite and marble due to their natural elegance and versatility. If you are a busy homeowner who doesn’t get enough time to maintain kitchen worktop, quartz is the best material for you. But if you can take care of your kitchen worktop with regular cleaning and maintenance, you can choose the beautiful marble or granite worktops without thinking twice.
