The year 2024 marks a decade since Pedrali introduced the iconic Log collection, designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli. Since its debut at Salone del Mobile.Milano in 2014, the Log collection has captivated the design world, winning the Young & Design first prize and cementing its status as a symbol of timeless versatility and comfort. Over the years, its sculptural elegance and minimalist aesthetic have made it an enduring favorite.

The Log armchair was born from a vision to create a sculptural seating piece that combines lightness, comfort, and simplicity. The designers approached its creation like sculptors, refining each element to reach the ideal balance between aesthetics, stability, and comfort. The result is a one-piece, mono-material seat that feels effortless yet refined—embracing users without hindering movement. It embodies pure design philosophy, offering both visual and practical appeal.

Log’s seemingly simple construction hides the complexity of its design. Its steel frame, enveloped in polyurethane foam, provides ergonomic support in a lightweight form. The result is a product that’s not only visually striking but also durable and highly adaptable. The collection has been celebrated for its versatile application, meeting the demands of contemporary spaces by offering resistance, flexibility, and easy mobility.

As Pedrali’s Log collection evolved, so did its forms and functions. Following the success of the original armchair, the Log family expanded with the introduction of the Log Lounge and Log Pouf in 2015, followed by a two-seater sofa in 2016. Each new iteration retained the elegance and minimalist aesthetic of the original, while enhancing comfort and adaptability. The lounge version introduced more generous proportions, the pouf provided extra utility as a support or footrest, and the two-seater sofa added soft, cozy shapes with an impressive lightness.

This decade-long journey of Log’s evolution is not just about design but also its real-world applications. The collection has become a favorite in international projects, lending its charm to spaces ranging from hospitality to commercial offices. At Hotel Mon Sant Benet in Spain, Log poufs create a peaceful and comfortable lounge area, while Milano Verticale features Log Lounge armchairs to add sophisticated comfort to its rooms. In Stockholm’s Unit 4 offices, the collection is used in relaxation areas, and Copernico workspace in Milan integrates Log armchairs for comfortable meeting environments.
