Missoni Home 2023 Collection is here ahead of the upcoming Salone del Mobile 2023 in Milan, where the fashion house prepares to present in person the entire offering. This year’s collection is work of Alberto Caliri appointed in March this year to work on developing on Missoni Home Collection and Missoni Sport, in collaboration with Davide Tognetti. This marks a slew of changes at Missoni this year, where also Angela Missoni stepped down from the helm of the brand’s creative bringing in Filippo Grazioli as the head of the ready-to-wear fashion at Missoni. While Grazioli according to multiple fashion critics stunned with the Fall Winter 2023 Missoni runway debut, it is now Caliri’s moment to shine with the home line.
The Missoni Home 2023 collection is bringing the DNA of the homewear line under a new lens directed by the updated creative team. Caliri and his team masterfully play with colours while exploring novel fabrics showing us at the same time what the new Missoni Home stands for. The collection in its design lines celebrates the new love for minimal, yet fuses the same with the original patterns and prints the Italian fashion house is instantaneously recognizable for.
“The fabric is the very soul of the Missoni brand. It is an emotional driver, compelling, and the main design feature of the furnishing range. The brand heritage lies in the heart and soul of the all-time classic designs. New lifeblood is generated also by innovative patterns. While colour and art are key factors, multiform textiles are the other distinctive feature,” shares Missoni press team noting on the new home collection.
Missoni Nastri takes the spotlight in this year’s fabric choice, and at the same time serves as inspiration for the furniture pieces in its own right. “Perspective and colour enhance the dynamic appeal of bright and fresh colours woven with white geometric forms. It’s a typical Missoni idea to take textile elements as inspiration, transforming them into decorative macro-designs. In the Nastri fabric, the jacquard design in six colour variations creates 3D effects and is used to cover seats, cushions and multi-shape pouffes like the new Ciambellone and Panettone,” adds Missoni team.
Additionally the Missoni Nastri tableware collection (created and sold under license by Arnolfo di Cambio) also uses the same pattern to add life to cashmere plaids, hexagonal coffee tables, and other accessories. The motivation for the fun Missoni effects is contrast. Black and white vs colour, a clash that unites, offers the flexibility to arrange furnishings whichever you like.
The black and white spectrum is wide and features strong, delicate, or sporadic patterns. The elaborate trompe l’oeil patterns, the micro-macro flame pattern, and the wavy and gentle zigzags. Sharp contrasts are softened with sophisticated greys, white colorations (such as chalk, ivory, and beeswax), and a range of light and fresh tones. The multicolored Missoni wall art contains unexpected flashes of color with a contemporary nod to interior design.
All of the seats in Missoni Home 2023 collection have an easy-living design with interlocking and modular construction. They stand out thanks to their Missoni-inspired upholstery.
The Pouffe commands attention with its beautiful lightness and precise design shape. The whimsical doughnut or panettone shapes are paired with geometric cubes, cylinders, and hexagons. Not to mention the countless styles of cushions—classic or extra-large—each unique yet ideal for mixing and matching. The large, vivid Missoni Home rugs are true decorative tableaux with a big impression.
