Located within Marisfrolg Fashion Group’s Shenzhen campus, the 2,900 square meter Marisfrolg Showroom by Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) offers a designed interior inspired by the group’s dedication to textiles, precision tailoring, and innovative craftsmanship. Housing nine distinct fashion labels, the space serves as more than a showroom, it is a reflection of the group’s evolving vision.

Founded in 1993, Marisfrolg Fashion Group has expanded to over 400 stores in 100 cities. It collaborates with designers across the globe to develop collections defined by quality and expertise. This commitment extends beyond clothing into the built environment. The showroom’s design reinforces the individuality of each label while maintaining a cohesive architectural language.

A Multi-Purpose Experience

The showroom is designed to function as a dynamic retail and exhibition space. In addition to the main flagship store, it includes a pop-up space for exhibitions and events, a homeware gallery featuring décor and furniture, a café, and an outdoor courtyard. Each of these elements integrates within the overall design, creating an experience that extends beyond shopping.

ZHA’s design references the original “butterfly wing” structure of Marisfrolg’s headquarters. It incorporates fluid architectural elements that establish a sense of movement. Each label’s area is designed with distinct details. This ensures that visitors experience a different visual and spatial atmosphere that aligns with the identity of each brand.

Sustainable Materials and Craftsmanship

Sustainability is a key aspect of the showroom’s construction, with materials chosen for both their functionality and their low environmental impact. The floors incorporate recycled crushed glass, quartz, sand, and stone, creating surfaces rich in texture and depth. Partition walls are cast in glass-reinforced gypsum (GRG), using wax molds that can be melted down and reused, minimizing waste.

Zaha Hadid Architects also designed custom furniture and display elements, composed of a variety of recycled materials. The team carefully selected glass, plastics, paper, fabrics, wood, and ceramics to complement the aesthetic of Marisfrolg’s labels. These materials reinforce the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship across multiple disciplines.

A New Standard in Showroom Design

By integrating architecture, sustainability, and fashion into a single environment, the Marisfrolg Showroom reflects a refined approach to retail and exhibition spaces. The design allows for flexibility while ensuring that each label maintains its unique presence. With a strong emphasis on material innovation and thoughtful spatial design, ZHA has created a showroom that not only serves its functional purpose but also increases the overall experience of those who visit.
