RMJM Shenzhen has been awarded for their exquisite design proposal of the Shenzhen Campus of Sun Yat-sen University that will house medical and science facilities for 20,000 students.
The concept, developed in collaboration with Professor He Jintang of the SCUT Architectural Design and Research Institute, draws inspiration from the natural landscape surrounding the Campus as well as from Sun Yat-sen University’s long history and was developed adhering to four key themes: Mountain, River, Ritual and Learning. – from architect
We wanted to create an innovative, vibrant and unique campus, where learning and leisure spaces are well balanced. But we also wanted the Campus to be sustainable, with a low-emission footprint, well integrated into the community and easily accessible through eco-friendly transports. I would like to extend my special thanks to Professor He Jingtang and his team, and, of course, to our team in Shenzhen who worked tirelessly on this project. – Yang Hua, RMJM Shenzhen Principal
