The new collections make a seamless addition to the ambiance of Nordic homes, which are characterized by their use of natural woods and light colors, surrounded by the closeness and coziness of the natural world.
This year Ed Ng, Co-Founder of the international design studio AB Concept, has worked with Wiener GTV Design for the first time to present Hagu (which translates to “hug” in English), a chair that gently envelops the body, while Nichetto Studio’s founder Luca Nichetto bridged the gap between the Austrian brand’s venerable production methods and cutting-edge design thinking by experimenting with metal for Ample chair.
The new collection of chairs and armchairs designed by AB Concept and Nichetto Studio represent a real innovation in the world of Wiener GTV Design, where the classic handcrafted curved bentwood leaves room for a plywood shell that embraces and envelops the whole system, wisely integrated with new metallic materials. The result fully expresses the aesthetic values of the brand.
– says Riccardo Pigati, CEO of Wiener GTV Design.
For the second year in a row, Wiener GTV Design renews its collaborations with the internationally renowned architect and designer India Mahdavi for two new designs – a dining version of the Loop Chair as well as a new lounge chair with ample proportions bearing, Mickey.
A newly designed dining chair and a lounge chair, called Mickey, nods to Mahdavi’s ‘childhood heroes’. ‘The Mickey chair is high and comfy but also embracing, colourful and kind. A friend to cherish and with big ears, who listens to all your fears.’ – said the designer.
Wiener GTV Design is the only manufacturer in the world that enables you to translate a free hand drawing by giving it a wooden materiality of that quality.
– says India Mahdavi.
