Made entirely of poplar plywood, lightweight material is shaped in an eco-friendly manner, REK Bookcase is work of Reinier de Jong designer.

Despite the iPad and its countless toddler apps, my two-year-old is very fond of his little books. And of course they were left all around the place. It was time for his own shelves: REK bookcase junior, a 63% or 50% scaled-down version of REK bookcase. Like the original REK you can slide the five parts in or out and position them according to the space you need. It can grow with the child’s book collection.
REK jr. is entirely made of poplar plywood. Poplar is not only a lightweight material but very eco-friendly (from responsibly managed forests in Europe) and of course 100% biodegradable. The wood is finished with 100% organic linseed oil wax.
