El Equipo Creativo brings its innovative design approach to Gelato Collection, a refined take on the traditional gelateria that blends culinary expertise with the sophistication of perfumery. Created in collaboration with acclaimed chef Albert Adrià, named the World’s 2nd Best Chef in 2024 and World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2015, this concept transforms gelato into an experience beyond taste. Inspired by the structured numbering of perfumes, each recipe in this evolving collection is carefully developed and cataloged, offering a selection of unique flavors that change over time.

Bringing this vision to life, Adrià collaborates once again with El Equipo Creativo, a team he previously worked with on celebrated dining spaces such as Tickets, La Dolça, and Pakta. Together, they have designed an environment that shifts away from the familiar look of traditional gelato shops, creating a space that feels as refined as a high-end perfumery or jewelry store.

A Space That Balances Contrast

Inside Gelato Collection, contrasts define the atmosphere, cool meets warm, elegance meets simplicity. Every design choice serves a purpose, guiding visitors through an experience that stimulates both sight and taste. The centerpiece of the space is the gelato display case, designed to resemble a luxurious presentation rather than a standard shop counter. Clad in fluted glass, it enhances the vibrancy of each gelato’s color while evoking a crisp, icy feel.

Metallic and champagne tones enhance the space, adding luxury without overwhelming the minimalist design. Textures and materials create movement, emphasizing each gelato as an artfully crafted piece.

A Jewel-Like Experience

Just as a high-end perfumery or jewelry boutique elevates its products, Gelato Collection presents its offerings as carefully curated treasures. The display case resembles an elegant gift box, reminiscent of a finely wrapped perfume bottle or an intricate jewelry case. This meticulous presentation enhances the perception of each gelato, reinforcing its exclusivity.

At the entrance, a double-height ceiling opens up the space, where three hexagonal lamps crafted from textured glass create a captivating focal point. Their cool illumination mimics the purity of ice, drawing the eye and creating a luminous, almost weightless effect. These suspended structures catch the attention of passersby along La Rambla, inviting them to step inside and discover the experience for themselves.

Designed for the Senses

More than just a dessert shop, Gelato Collection engages all senses. The space offers a momentary escape from Barcelona’s warmth, promising both physical and sensory refreshment. The interaction of textures, materials, and lighting is designed to make each visit feel special, reinforcing the concept of gelato as an art form rather than a simple indulgence.
